Abraham Carne Asada
Found on the corner of Angel Flores and Antonio Rosales, Abraham Carne Asada serves up some of the best, low cost asada you’ll find in Mazatlan. Different packages are available for the carne and the pollo – or you can just order a kilo of meat. Carne paquete #1 includes a kilo of carne, a grilled onion, a jalapeno, tortillas and your choice of rice, beans or soup. At the time of this post, it was 190 pesos (approx $9.50 usd), and plenty to make three or four meals. A kilo of carne asada without sides was 160 pesos (about $8.00 usd). Pollo offerings are a little less expensive! Oh, and they deliver too! No inside dining – just to-go. Abuelita answers the phone and doesn’t speak much English so have someone order for you if your Spanish isn’t up to the process! They open around Noon, and go to the early evening. Phone: 981.14.19 or 981.20.53.
FYI – This is my neighborhood. I always tell people I’m on the ‘interesting’ end of Angel Flores! If you don’t know Angel Flores, it’s the street with the nice colorful houses you’ll see in almost all promotional videos marketing packets. Don’t be afraid to walk down to Abraham, but take care not to trip on the sidewalks – they’re the most dangerous part of the journey!
